**Chicken Rice Dinner**

woohoo~~!!! is Chicken Rice Dinner today! well, firstly i muz say a BIG THANK U to Lian! cos she is the one who bought me all the cooking paste. ranging from chicken rice paste to tom yam soup paste to curry paste to bak ku teh paste! really really thank u very much for such a wonderful pressie for xmas last yr. haha...

to make FULL use of it, i decided to cook chicken rice today and have a good dinner with my housemates and a fren of ours. i went out tis morning to buy groceries and the stuff to prepare for dinner tonite. bought abt 1.5kg of chicken made up of chicken drumsticks and chicken thighs. started to prepare around 5pm for dinner at abt 7pm. it was quite a lot of work but all was great when i smell the fragance from the rice and chicken. hahaha... at abt 7pm, Isaac finally came over to our house and dinner was ready to be serve. wat a good timing he had ah... hmmm... huiying and tess came down & there we r, start with our chicken rice dinner. i was rather worried tat the chicken might be too hard. well, end up, it was rather ok, although i tink it is still not tat good. hopefully next time round will be better... & to those who ate it, paiseh if it is not good ah... i hope is still within ur expectations. :D share some yummy photos of the success after my 2 hrs of hardwork...

juz now Patricia said San San asked her to be MC for San San's wedding. whahaha... Pat said she cannot ah and ended up she will be clicking the ppt slides for her. heehee... she said she will be alone at a corner. poor gal... if i'm there, she wun be alone liao! argh~!!! i seriously wanna attend San San's wedding. how i wish i can be there... haiz...

anyway, photo sharing again... here r some photos taken yesterday over dinner with Nelson before he fly off back to Malaysia last nite. act Nelson is Fion's "biao ge". ended up, he became everyone's "biao ge" here. so from then on, we always greet him as "biao ge" & he oso got used to having so many "biao di" & "biao mei". hahaha... he came back to Brissy tis time round to settle his PR stuff and shun bian move his stuff back to Malaysia. well, juz chatted with him on MSN. he is back to work liao ah! gosh~ tat was rush and hectic for him. haiz... anyway, glad tat we at least met up with him for dinner before he went off. he is really a great "biao ge" to us who took care of us when he is in Brisbane. & farewell dinner for him became a treat from him ah. argh~ promise to give him a treat when we visit him in KL next time round. so here u r... Dinner @ Korean Restaurant (for me, is twice in the same week but nvm ah... nice food mah...)

anyway, i tink my cranky mood is up again. to stop all tat, i act slept thru the whole afternoon, not doing anything much for my assignment. gosh~ juz wat do i wanna? haiz... i guess it boiled down again to... HOMESICKNESS! so much so i am enjoying overseas student life, so much so i am missing home too! & with my recent decision to extend my stay for 1 yr of honours means i wun be home till end of tis yr, tat is if nutting crops up to stop me from going home for hols! i really wonder... issit a muz to feel homesick at a certain period of time? hmm... then when one finish studies and go back home, one will complain and say "i miss aussie life!". how mao dun can one be! hahaha... okok... enough of whining, me really becoming an old lady real soon. shall go and do some work (serious work) and tomolo will be a feast nite with CHICKEN RICE! cooked by.... ME!!! whahaha... Ja-ne!

hmm.... reading Lian's, Lin's & Jas' bloggy.. i realise something common abt them. tis is a very STRESSFUL period for my dear frens in Spore now ah. & not seeing Jun tat often on MSN make me realise how busy and stress they r now... well, since i am more relax now, i shall shower them with some concern, warmth and LOVE! heehee... cannot be juz posting abt photos on my own enjoyment. so i did a photo collage of MY SPICE BUDDIES. some lovely photos i took with them when i was back in spore during holidays. :D (PS: well, dun have a single photo for Jun cos tis irritating guy juz refuse to take photo alone. always need our company... whahahaha... he noes he look ugly alone in photo, need our existence to make the whole photo presentable... oops~)

juz wanna dedicate tis post to all 4 of them who r out there busy with studies, work, games, many other stuff & feeling stressful for watever they r doing.... i juz hope they can stop by here & have a look at tis picture and feel better after tat. juz wanna pass my support and love to all 4 of them!

tomolo is ANZAC day. is a public holiday here. which means no sch tomolo... well, it wun affect me any way cos i have no sch on Wed ah. hahaha... since is hols, Fiona & i decided to go along with the "holida mood" so we decided to go to city for dinner. Korean Food! that's wat we r going to have for dinner!!! yeahz~~~!!! though i dun really like the smell on my clothes after eating in the air-con restaurant as i will smell exactly like the food in the restaurant, i still enjoy the delicious food. esp after i found a new love today.... heehee... let the lovely photos do all the toking... i shall not tok so much liao...

nutting much after dinner cos our main purpose is to have dinner only. hahaha... today is the eve of public holidays so alot of pple in city. ready to go for party! as for us, we decided to head home... i rather spend time partying with my bed cos i had yet recovered from my lack of sleep over the weekend ah! heehee... :D

i am staying 1 more year in Australia... :D

today i went to uni with dreamy eyes and malfunctioning brain cos i am super TIRED!!! lack of sleep and insufficient rest. & i still have a mini exam in class today. it was like an editing essay exam whereby marks are allocated. well, i almost fell asleep when i was reading the essay but is not becos it is boring. it is becos i am too tired! hahaha... getting old sia... just one nite nv sleep, i can feel such great impact. for my housemates, i tink huiying caught a cold and tess having fever ah. gosh~!!! how bad can tings get. erm... better dun itchy mouth and suggest anymore road trip liao. we need to have GOOD GOOD rest and concentration for studies liao. juz 3 more mths & we will be graduating. muz be good girls liao!

today i finally did wat i was suppose to do. really wait till the very last min to do it. heehee... I sent in my application for the Honours Studies. YES! i am extending my studies to honours degree which means i will be staying on in Australia for 1 more year! all these while, i had been pondering whether to stay or not to stay for it. finally, my decision was to stay for it! is juz 1 more year, 1 more yr of endurance! well, i will still have my graduation convocation tis coming July for my bachelor degree. and then i will stay on for 1st sem of honours studies. which means... most prob (without hipcups), i will go back for hols at the end of tis year. heehee... anyway, now tat i submitted my application, all i pray for now is tat they dun disapprove it ah. tat oso mean i need to do well for my last sem now (not the case as i not working hard leh.. hahaha...) shall see how in time to come and update u guys further....

juz as i tot of reminding my auntie to check for all the expiry dates on the passports for my parents who r coming over in July. their passport r all OKAY with expiry dates in year 2010. the only problematic passport is.... MINE! hahaha... i din realise my passport will be expiring in nov 2008 ah. which means is not enough validity for my honours studies ah. how great can tat be sia... passport need at least 6mths validity to be used for travel. heehee... if i am to graduate in July 2008, is only 4mths which is not enough. well, not my fault ah, cos i calculate nicely liao. i will graduate in july 2007 then go back spore then renew my passport. how i noe need stay 1 more yr. so is not my fault! i din mis-calculate or over look ah. :D

my eyes r not opening wide enough liao... hinting i need to sleep soon... okok...shall end here then...

~Sunrise @ Byron Bay~

One of my fren from Brisbane actually came back here to settle his PR stuff over tis weekend. so my housemates & i together with another guy fren decided to meet up with him & have some fun before he goes back. well, so we ended up renting a car and go for a short getaway trip to Byron Bay, the heavenly location for the best view of SUNRISE! as it is the most easternly of Australia Mainland! how cool can tat be, rite? well, it is oso our belated mid sem get away trip. heehee... off we went in our lovely, apple green Toyota Camry Sportivo to Byron Bay for the most wonderful and perfect sunrise ah...

well, we r in Queensland state, tis is a Victoria state car & we r given a street directory for New South Wales state... hmm, wat a combination ah! whahaha...

Dinner @ Fu Yao, Logan. it was a late late dinner at abt 11pm. heehee... we gals drove the car home then we went to pick up the guys along the way as tis is a better way by not making double trip along the way for we r staying furthest away from our destination. so there we r, with street directory and instruction, Tess was the driver & i am Ms GPS aka navigator. picking up Nelson near city was still ok though we made a wrong turn initially. heehee... then travelling to Wai Juan's house was a bit of hard work. cos his place rather faraway and is a newly developed estate. but in the end, we still manage to reach his place safe and sound so all was great! with good driving by Tess & good navigating skills by me! heehee... from there, Wai Juan took over & we went for our late late dinner at abt 11am. having some nite dim sum. cool~!!!

after dinner, we set off to Gold Coast for supper chill out. as it was Saturday nite, is party nite! streets of Gold Coast r flooded with pple. many many pple waiting to go into pubs and clubs for partying. it was a crazy scene with many pple well-dressed up. as wat Tess commented, we juz fit in the crowd with our casual dressing. heehee... tat was quite true. then as we walked along the Surfers Paradise, there is tis grp of guys walking pass us. there was tis guy, quite tall and good looking, suddenly raise up his arm and seems to wanna have a "high five" with me. well, i was tinking, "y not?" so there i went, "piah!", smacking real hard onto his hand. heehee.. anyway, after walking around for a while, we decided to settle @ Charlie's Cafe for our supper chill out!

i became the spokeswoman for White Chocolate Cheesecake! tis is not as deliciou as Freestyle's cheesecake but overall was good cos the presentation of the cake was nice! :D

at abt 2am, we set off from Gold Coast to Byron Bay. Byron Bay is at the northern border of New South Wales state. very near to Queensland state (where i'm located). it is the highly recommended place for sunrise viewing. sunrise time is abt 6.07am so we muz get there by abt 5.30am. we reached rather early so we stayed in the car and try to view the stars from the black black sky by sticking our head out of the window. heehee... Nelson had a great time trying to explain wat r the stars and horoscope stars to us. he is really good at it! & we had a great time chatting abt all these and the strange happenings around the universal. weird topic but it was really interesting. heehee... tat is how we kill time ah! around 5.30am, we decided to slowly make our way up to the lighthouse area to wait for the lovely sunrise~!

Day 2: Sunrise @ Byron Bay

at abt 5.34am, tis is how the sky look like... some sight of orange sky on the massive dark sky...

at abt 5.42am, tis is how the sky look like... is still dark but the sky is clearing to welcome Mr Sunrise...

at abt 5.53am, tis is how the horizon look like. it was rather cloudy so we din had a very clear view of the massive horizon but still all was good!

according to Nelson, tis is call "chen(2) xi(1)". tis is the sky at abt 6am.

at abt 6.03am, i'm trying to capture some "chen(2) xi(1)" or sunray sticking out from the cloudy horizon...

can u see the sunray tat r trying to force its way out from the cloudy horizon? is at abt 6.05am for tis scene...

6.07am!!! the sun is really rising up... i can see one third of the "egg yolk"!

at 6.09am, the "egg yolk" was half way thru the horizon... min by min is rising up...

at 6.13am, is a BRAND new day! the "sunshine egg" is fully cooked and well-done, ready for "consumption" heehee...

i am in love with sunrise, cos is juz simply great feeling seeing the sun trying to sneak up from the horizon. well, if it is a clear day, i would tink the scene would be better. but i am contented with wat i saw. photos on my bloggie's background is Sunset @ Australia. now i have a perfect match with sunrise and sunset. heehee...

for the next moment, i'm back to Queensland, the Sunshine state! i still prefer sunshine state. is much nicer with lovely sunshine & great scenary almost at every corner of the state.

tat marks the end of tis 2 days 1 nite road trip. it was a tiring trip as we r up the whole nite. and when we got home, it was total concussion for us. slept straight after some light lunch and i am still feeling tired as i update tis bloggie. however, overall it was GREAT trip! i enjoyed very much with all the laughter and fun along the way. most importantly, i saw the lovely sunrise tat make me love the sunshine even more. (finally a proper and full sunrise as compared to those when we try to view it during chalet. hahaha) after all these fun, is time for some serious work done. heehee... :D

Procrastinating is harmful & evil~!!!!

mmm... mmm... i am turning into a GREAT slacker soon... gosh~!!! super unproductive for the past 1 week. after the presentation on Monday, i had been slacking all the way thru. well, that is becos my next report is due abt 1 mth later. now i am left with 2 major reports, 1 minor report and an exam before i can officially take a good rest from my bachelor studies. however before all these happen, i am actually SLACKING! plain laziness, i noe! but i am not doing anything abt it. when most pple around me r drowning in assignments, examz and stress, i am slacking. what is happening? gosh~! i noe pple may say "no worries lah, u only have 2 subjects tis sem." i'm giving myself tis excuse too. if i dun slack now, when will i ever get the chance to slack again? BUT all these r too much, rite? i mean i am over slacking liao. argh~~~!!!! i juz dun wana be unproductive. since i have ample time, i shall go ahead and prepare my reports way ahead. i noe is hard to convince oneself to start on something which is due weeks later. but i juz have to force it into myself. "Ms Lim, NO MORE slacking for u!" but come to tink of tis, heehee... we r off for a road trip tis weekend. is juz a short one to Bryon Bay. haha... tok more abt tat when i come back with Photos & more photos! alrighty! now i shall get "shoo" myself to get back to my report preparation.

anyway, wat did we do tat day leh? hmm... 1stly in the morning i had my lecture and tutorial. it was DAY 1 after the mid sem break & i have a presentation due tat day! gosh~! how good can tat be, having a presentation on DAY 1 of sch. with the most gan chiong feeling cos is an individual presentation, i stood infront of the class. trying to act cool which obviously is not tat convincing with me mis-reading so many words. & when it get to the part which i worried the most, DISCUSSION session with the class! i was quite scared tat if they post a question & i dunno how to ans then SIAO liao or they juz keep quiet and they corporate with me, oso WAN DAN! THANK GOD ah! my classmates r so so nice pple! they asked me quest & i managed to have a discussion with them cos i can ans their quest with my ans tat was prepared beforehand. heehee... anyway, is over! & i got quite ok marks. so i'm contented.

after my class, i quickly rushed home. unload my lappy and prepare to meet up the birthday gal to set off to Freestyle Dessert Cafe for the all time favourite - DESSERTS!!! woohoo~~!!!

the most beautiful bridge in Brisbane, my favourite cos of the lights! very lovely with the lights lighting up the bridge at nite. setting a great view across the quiet Brisbane sky & when the car travel across the bridge, the glaring light juz brighten up everyone's smile (",)

the all time fav, simply chocolate indulgence... the cake will melt in ur mouth with a great & warm feeling. one mouth of warm cake, one mouth of cold ice-cream, BEST combination! gosshhhh.... is juz HEAVEN with tis wonderful creation! 100points awarded!

for those who love the very sour type of cheesecake, i tink tis shld wat u will go for. with the lovely cheescake below & the 2 cold ice-cream (raspberry & strawberry), ur facial expression will surely be "suan ah!" CURL-UP expression! heehee... awarded 99points (lack 1 point cos i am not a cheesecake lover)

yeahz! it was a great day out! FULL indulgence in yummilicous desserts, long hrs of chatting & scenic strolling along the river front. next yr, Fiona's bday will be a happening on in Singapore. heehee... i cannot be there cos i will be in Aussie lor (stay tune to next entry for more updates on tis). nevertheless, i noe mentally i will be part of it. hopefully all these lovely photos will give her the best memories on tis 23rd bday with me in Brissy... :D
