HAPPY MOO MOO YEAR~!!!

HAPPY "牛" YEAR!!! Have a Great year ahead~!

CNY is one of my fav festive holidays as mentioned. i like it when everyone in the family gathers together for the new year, having reunion dinner together, laughing and chatting away. CNY reunion is an impt gathering in my family and usually everyone will be present unless unavoidable reasons. in the past when Grandma was still in good health, she was always the one who would cook really yummy food for us. however, as the years passed by, Grandma's health is not at the tip top condition and she is getting very forgetful nowadays. so we decided to let her take a good rest, sit back and relax and enjoy the food (of cos is quite impossible to ask her not to care abt anything. she would wanna contribute a fair share whenever possible & we tried our very best to accommodate her eagerness to help). for the past few years, my 2 aunties and myself have taken over the task to prepare the reunion dinner tat is usually cater to abt 18 pple as well as the lunch on CNY Day 1 which is usually cater to the same number of pple. it is never an easy task to prepare a meal for so many pple and all the preparation and purchasing of food will start way before the actual day. on the actual day itself, there r non stop preparation, cooking, washing up, clearing up to do. although cooking is not an easy job, esp when it is for so many pple, i still like to cook for my family. i like it when pple r enjoying my cooking and i simply love cooking. heehee...

anyway, here r the highlights of our CNY reunion dinner:

everyone was contributing a fair share for this new year.. even little Lynn helped out in placing the mandarin oranges into the basket. good job, Lynn!

since there were so many of us, the amt of food shld be sufficient to fulfill everyone. the ingredients for steamboat...

the steamboat set-up... many plates of chilli.. heehee... my family simply LOVES chilli!!

fried beehoon cooked by my uncle's maid...

dessert after dinner...

"Lo-Hei" before the start of dinner..

the slices of fish symbolise 年年有余!!!

“步步高升!万事如意!心想事成!大吉大利!
学业进步!生体健康!恭喜发财!”
as CNY Day 2 is my special day. so we had a celebration after the dinner to celebrate my day in advance. heehee... i am actually very happy as both my fav celebrations fall on the same day/period.

tis yr before i order the cake, i was pondering which cake i shld go for. i wanna go for the normal cakes but i tot maybe i shld go for something different instead. & so getting an ice cream cake shld be something which everyone will enjoy & tat was my final decision!

heehee... YES! tis is a Winnie the Pooh & Friends cake! & it is for ME! whahaha.... who say cartoon characters' cakes r for young kids?? Winnie the pooh & friends r my fav cartoon characters from Disney so i decided to get tis cake. the name of tis cake is "togetherness". i tink is very appropriate for a bday celebration with family as there is a great sense of belonging and warmth when i'm with my family...

well well... before i can request, all the candles were placed onto the cake. & so from the look of tis cake, my age is openly known by everyone! haha... yeah~!!! i am a quarter century old... Oh wait a min! not officially as it is still 1 day away as to date of tis entry. haaha...

Happy Birthday to ME! Happy Birthday to ME!... my wishes r....

hooo-hoooo....
surprisingly i did not have anyone fighting to blow the candles for me. whahaha... usually i will have a few "helpers" in blowing the candles...

Lynn was kinda excited and we were saying tat it was as if it was Lynn's bday. whahaha...

okiedokie. long day ahead. better finish up my TV show and hit for sack. :)
