Day 3: Salamanbca Market & Cycling from top of Mount Wellington

is Saturday!!! the day for the biggest market in Tassie... Salamanbca Market. it is a typical weekend market of Aussie. selling all kind of great stuff ranging from vege to bags to tourist soveniors. is really alot alot of stalls... not forgetting the whole range of diff kind of food sold @ the market tat will b the perfect breakfast for pple visiting the market. is a market tat shld not be missed when u r in Hobart! yeahz!!! i had a fruitful morning walking around the market although it was raining the whole morning when i stepped out of my hostel. i bought alot of stuff at the market but most of these items r for frens back in Brissy. heehee... my victory items r lip balm, colourful candles, key chain, scented bags, tea leaves, ear rings and necklace. spent alot ah... :D then before i go for my afternoon cycling tour, there i am at the internet cafe, relaxing with coffee and internet. updating my blog after 3 days at Tassie and toking to some frens on MSN. heehee...

After lunch @ Salamanbca market, i headed back to hostel to prepare for my afternoon cycling tour from top of Mount Wellington. a day i had been longing for... so with all the stuff i tot shld be adequate for the tour, i set off for the tour! juz as we reached the top of the mountain, all was great. rain had stopped and the sky was clearing up. hahaha... juz in time for some photos from the peak of the mountain. overseeing the whole Hobart, is really a spectacular view. definitely much better than Brissy's Mount Cootha. hahaha...

then when i put on the cycling helment, it started to rain... and slowly change to hail... and it snow!!! oh my gosh~~!!! can u imagine, it is already very cold when the strong wind keep blowing and then it started to snow... with me in my bermuda and t-shirt, hahaha... how can i fight the snow sia? so last min, i quickly put on the xtra t-shirt i bought and then my thin thin wind breaker. hop on the bike and quickly cycle down liao as the lower we get thru the mountain, the better the weather condition and temperature will be. with the snow splashing on me, i hardly can see properly and my hands were totally numb! i can no longer feel my hands so i dun even noe if i am pressing the brakes as i cycled down the mountain. hahaha... luckily half way thru, there was tis fireplace which we stopped by to warm ourselves up. i sticked both hands on the wall of the fireplace and is juz heaven ah! continue our journey, we reached the bottom of the mountain after abt 2 hrs time. it was very really great experience cycling in snow!!! hahaha...

backside aching... legs oso aching... so there i am, back in my hostel for a rest before i go out and search for dinner. hahaha... then i decided to take some photos of my hostel... yeahz! quite a nice hostel, rather clean. juz tat is rather small and facilities r not very fully furnished but it is under renovation... yahz! hopefully it will get better & maybe await my return the next time round... heehee...

after dinner, i told a stroll along the harbour front... then i decided to wait till is night time to take some night view. well, basically in Summer, Tasmania will only turn dark after 9pm ah! gosh... i had to sit down by the harbour front with cold wind blowing till abt 9pm before is night time... whahaha... so i only took 2 night scene photo of Tassie...

6 Days 5 Nights Tasmania Trip - Day 2

Day 2: Huon Valley & Tahune Airwalk

Day 2 is the start of my day tour. the journey today is to a mountainous area with lovely scenary and view of large grassland and valley. is a peaceful area which is well-liked by many Australians for their retirement. my tour guide told me tat many Australians chose to leave their home city to stay at Huon Valley for retirement. for instance, opening small farm or small motel to make a living and lead a very carefree and relaxing life... :D

Tassie is famous for Timber making so here is a timber museum in Huon Valley.

Australia biggest tree!!! is not the tallest but biggest cos is very very heavy & big!!!! is abt 84 tonnes!

Huon River... following thru the whole Huon Valley... i like the sound of the flowing water... very clear and smoothing... peaceful environment...

woohoo~~!!! dessert after dinner... yeah!!! fav chocolate ice cream... somemore is Cadbury Chocolate ah!!! heehee... after tis ice cream, i had to walk around the harbour front a few more times to digest my food completely before i go back to Hostel to bath and rest for the day ah... gosh~~~

6 Days 5 Nights Tasmania Trip - Day 1

heehee... long awaiting post for my Tasmania trip ah... okok... pls sit back and relax and enjoy the 6 diff entries of write up and photos (chosen from the 200 over photos i took over 6 days ah...)

Day 1: Arrival @ Tasmania capital city, Hobart

1st impression when the plane land, the airport very small ah!!! i was really very excited and tis is the 1st time i am travelling alone around. really alone as in no one else to rely on but all by myself and making all big and small decisions on my OWN! cool... so there i am arriving at Hobart domestic airport after abt 3hrs flight from Brisbane (enough time to fly from Spore to Hong Kong ah... heehee...)

Then after abt 20mins bus ride, i finally arrived at my backpackers hostel (photos in next 2 entry), YHA Hostel. check in and unload my luaggage, is time to explore the small city and look out for the day tours i can go for....

after walking around, manage to find the visitor centre and arrange for my day tours before i can rest my mind and take a good look at the city area. is pretty small and all shops closed as early as 5pm ah. haiz... typical Aussie city... well, wat to do leh.... some photos captured along my way around the city...

the main street in the city called Elizabeth Street... is a pedestrain street... no cars...

one of the busy street with cars... basically the street r very well lay out and buildings by the side r mixture of old English style and new modern looks.

tis is the old Post Office in the olden days & in the modern day today, it is still the main Post Office for Hobart...

houses... mountain... tat is the way how Tassie houses lay out.. & according to my day tour guide, most Tassie pple stayed away from city in suburbs located faraway from city... so their houses r often on the mountain, valley or farm areas.

one ting not so good abt Tassie is tat the public transport not so convenient. only one form of transport by bus. not as developed as other major Aussie cities. so i chose to walk around ah.. whahaha... can save transportation money too... heehee... after walking around and taking photos, my 1st dinner in Tassie shall be as following...

Flavour of India... well-known and highly recommended Indian food in most Tourist brochures for Tassie intro. (when i taking tis photo, a guy passing by stopped by and said "yeah... tis is a good restaurant tat served excellent food." see how popular it is ah...)

looks yummy??? well, it taste really yummy!!! the curry is HOT & marvellous! live up to the recommendation and good reputation...

after dinner, so full ah... so wat shall i do leh? all shops r closed. so i decided to walk around the harbour front and dockside. there r a few dockside and pier at Hobart city as it is located near the water front. so there r many yatchs parked at the dockside and alot of cruise ship going in and out the busy harbour front for touristic purposes. the port with big container liners r nearby too.

End of Day 1....

My Message for Year 2007...

i finally got back my lappy which means i can post my msg for the new yr (cos i type it in advance when i was in Aussie... hahaha..) anyway, i like the way on how shupei reflect her yr 2006 with photos and all ah but i wun copy her idea ah... hahaha... juz write can liao... yeahz! a bit slow lah.. cos 2nd week into the new yr liao...

My message for the new year, 2007:

Year 2006 had been a long way for me. It cannot be considered as a smooth sailing year, neither can it be considered as a lousy year. This is just a year which I really learnt to grow up. Off to Aussie for studies in 2005 was a new and totally fresh experience. For a short period of abt 5 mths in Year 2005, I had to start off my studies in Aussie. It was a testing period for me. I am glad I made it thru. Now the real challenge came when I came back to Aussie earlier in Feb 2006. after abt 10 long mths, I really learnt a lot in daily issues, relationship among people and everything else. There r many ups and downs in this 10 mths in Aussie. All I can said is I really had a good time here enjoying my life and experiencing my life. This is part of the best and most wonderful memories in my life. In the upcoming year 2007, I will still be back in Aussie for half a yr of studies to complete my degree. All I have for 2007…

For studies,
I just wish tat I will go thru tis last sem with the greatest faith and confidence. It will be another tough time to fight thru and I noe if I want to have a happy time after graduation, I can only work hard during the sem. I believe in effort will b paid off and I want to prove tis belief once again!

For my family,
Everyone to be happy & healthy. Family had always been an impt part of my life. During my studies in Aussie, I really learnt to appreciate them even more. Without their support mentally or physically, I will never be where I am now. In the past, I am too full of myself tat I can handle tings alone. Now I realize I am wrong. Cos the family I tot will not be too much involved in my life had been the greatest support tat is pushing me thru all these while. Thanks…

For all my friends,
You guys simply brighten my life even more! Be it frens I have in Spore or frens I made in Aussie, I am just glad our pathway came across. All I have for everyone of u is tat, please take good care of urself no matter where u r now. Best of luck in whatever u guys r doing. For those studying (just like me), of cos wish u guys have good results! For those working, happy working & enjoy whenever u can. Still need some relaxation mah… heehee… no matter wat, I thank all u for being my frens, giving me support whenever I need. All the best!

For myself,
I wanna be wiser… in handling things and my relationship with others. I wanna be more appreciative… towards pple around me. I wanna be more firm… in deciding on wat I wanna. I wanna stay happy and healthy always. That is all I have myself. I noe I can do it as long as I trust myself.

haha... i really had been eating and eating non stop ever since i come back ah... gosh~~~!!! last nite juz went to Chinatown with Waileng. hahaha... after walking the whole chinatown to buy the stuff she need, we went to have our dinner. my all time favourite... Claypot Chicken Rice!!! (now having sore thorat after eating ah... whahaha...) & then we had a dessert of "Ju-Kueh"! yeahz!!!! we surely can eat sia... act i wanna eat more stuff ah... but too full liao... muz control ah... whahahaha...

luckily Waileng is there to accompany to eat ah. she oso can eat alot. hahaha... the moment i see her, we juz keep talking. we cannot seems to finish our conversation ah. well, ever since pri sch, we had become very good buddies, always can chat non stop. used to chat on phone for hours lah. juz tat becos we r all busy now, so very seldom chat on phone liao... but whenever i meet up with her, it seems tat we have alot alot to chat abt. can really chat non stop ah... whahaha... i certainly hope i can meet up with her again and have a good good chat again. :D

PS: i realised we tok so much until we forget take photos ah!!! argh... leng ah, next time muz take photos hor... as in photos of ourselves ah! whahaha... we go chinatown again ah... eat other food... i noe u will go with me lah, cos u oso wanna eat, rite? heehee...

my 1st week of happenings after returning to Singapore...

life without lappy is really a great torture ah!!! cos all my photos r in my lappy and i wanna show pple oso cannot. haiz... luckily my house internet is resort liao, so at least i can online. if not, i will be very sianz... i seriously cannot live without lappy and internet. these 2 had been my best buddies ever since i go Aussie ah. hahaha... anyway, juz some updates for my 1 week life in Singapore.

it had been a very busy week for me... going out, eating all kind of food i miss, meeting up with pple i had not seen for so long & acting as Santa Claus, giving away little gifts i bought from aussie. heehee.. here is a breakdown of my happenings for the past 1 week (finally can upload the photos... muz thanks Jas for lending me her lappy...)

31st Dec: Departure @ Brisbane Airport

Me & Wee Hong set off for airport at abt 10.30am (Brissy time). his flight is at 1.40pm, mine at 2.45pm. it was a long queue for his check in counter. after he check in his luaggage, is my turn. gosh... the lady said my luaggage overweight lah, so cannot check in unless i take out some. permitted weight is only 32kg & mine is 33kg. hahaha... so in front of the counter, i took out Meidai's 7 packs of macadamia nuts and Ting Hui's sports shoes. finally... luaggage go thru, can rest assured for tat very moment till board the plane liao... hahaha... 2 of us went to shop around the shop at airport as wee hong still wanna buy some chocolates and tis is wat he bought. i tot was rather unique... such big TOBERLONE!!!

my plane!!! the one who bought me back all the way from Brisbane to Singapore... yeahz... love it very very much!!!! hahaha...

so at abt 8.30pm (spore time), i reached spore liao!!! my homeground, my hometown... hahaha... me din had a good flight cos i keep tinking of Spore. hahaha... & the onflight entertainment is damn sianz lah. i played the games oso not much fun. so much so tat i on my own lappy watch shows and mp3 for music. hahaha... anyway, finally i reached spore so all was good at least! is the greatest feeling i had been waiting for when i saw my parents, grandma and auntie at the airport... heehee... upon reaching spore, due to last min change of plan so my new yr eve's plan was go home and sleep! hahaha... end up when i was abt to tuck myself into my bed comfortably, a call came in. is Meidai ah! she asked me out for coffee. so there i am, going out at abt 1am with Meidai, Tinghui, Wee Hong & Wee Hong's cousin and fren. whahaha... tat is how i spent my new yr eve and 1st nite in Singapore!

1 Jan: 1st day in Spore, a day spent at Vivo City with Spice Buddies

1st day in spore and there i am... going to the biggest shopping mall in Spore. hahaha... Vivo City! whahaha... meeting up with my Spice buddies is the happiest tingy tat i look forward when i come back as they always always brighten up my day with all kind of crappy jokes and silly actions. hahaha... & they r my best companion for photo taking too. :D

our lunch @ the Hong Kong Eatery @ Vivo City. heehee... look at the amount of food we eat! wow... look yummy, don't they? well, not too bad lah. juz tat queue very long ah!!! gosh...

after lunch, we tot can walked around vivo city but there r so so many pple. so me told me i really overwhelmed ah. a bit cannot tahan. then we decided to go to somewhere with less pple. heehee... setting off to Millenia Walk, TCC for a coffee and chit chat.

dun be surprise with all these.... is a xmas gift i got from our gift exchange. whahaha... well, we already had a ballot to decide who will be in charge of whose xmas gift. see how lovely Lian is. to tink she can tink of such creative gift ah. *girl ah , i will try bring all back Brissy and slowly cook ah. hahaha... help me thanks ur BF for his contribution in ideas too! hahah...*


2nd Jan: Mini gathering with my very very long time frens... yeahz!!! my pri sch frens...

really thank them very very much ah. cos they had been so nice to arrange tis meeting up abt 2 weeks before i came back and accommodating to watever i wanna eat. so there they r, bringing me to eat DIM SUM! hahaha... Imperial Treasure Dim Sum & ended up they treat me lah. so paiseh sia... aiyooo... *Yunci, Xinxian & Jasmine ah... thank u very very much...* all i rem was to eat. hahaha... so din take many photos on the DIM SUM. haha... only tis Xiao Long Bao ah.

my 3 lovely girls from Pri sch...Yunci, Xinxian, Jasmine.... is over a decade frenship with them ah... really really treasure them as i am glad after so long, we r still so close.

Yunci's good suggestion. high tea at Food Republic... whahaha... Fried Hokkien Mee! yeahz!!! miss it so so much when i was in Aussie ah. :D

3rd Jan: KTV nite with Shuwei & Jas...

Shuwei is forever my best KTV khaki... whahaha... & with Jas along, we r the best companions for KTV session. hahaha... from 7pm till 12am, my thorat is gone sia... is exp as we mixed up the ladies nite. hahaha... *sorry girls for asking u all spend so much with me but i really had a great time. cos i keep singing lah. whahahah... *

5th Jan: Steamboat Dinner with my poly mates!!!!

so damn long nv see all of them liao... i really miss them very much ah... all of them still looked the same ah... still as pretty as before. hahaha... & they oso very nice ah... try to accommodate to wat i wanna eat. heehee... so there we r at the Tian Tian Steamboat at Bugis.

6th Jan: Family day!!!

my lovely cousins came to my grandma's house. been waiting for the moment to see all 3 of them ah!!! when they came, my youngest cousin, Wei Zhi act forget my name ah!!! hahaha... for a moment, he forget how to call me. haiz... sad ah... but nvm lah, after a while, we 2 played till crazy sia... the eldest cousin, Weiqi who is the closest to me, did an act tat was out of my expectation. the 12 yrs old girl, act came up to me and gave me a very big hug for quite a long while ah... hahaha... warmth and sweet... feeling is beyond description. a moment i had been longing for... heehee... & they r all so happy with the items i bought back for them. sweets, games and soft toys... then i played a small game with them. cos i hide all the sweets i bought for them around the house and whoever can find, tat amount will belong to him or her. hahaha... as usual ah, Weiqi always find the most. poor Wei Zhi keep pulling my hand so i had to play cheat lah. i juz bring him to the exact spot where he can find my sweets. hahah... okok... i noe i am being bias but he youngest mah... :D

then in the evening, me set off for Vivo city again.. with Zhirong for dinner. hahaha... after walking 2 rounds, i finally decide on wat i wanna eat! poor Zhirong had to accommodate to my flicked mindedness. heehee... Thai food!!! yummy yummy! is the Thai Accent restaurant at vivo city with quite nice ambience and lovely scenary of Sentosa and cable cars...

7th Jan: Family day!!!

yeahz... afternoon shopping with my elder cousin, Cindy @ Vivo city. okok... u guys muz be asking me if i crazy ah... keep going vivo city. no lor... me not crazy. in fact yesterday was the only and actual day i manage to walk around vivo cos last 2 times was in rush to find a place for food and there r so many pple!!! heehee... then in the evening, we went to my Grandma's house for dinner. my mother cooked Curry chicken for me!!!! heehee... & i met up with most of my relatives from my mother's side. all look very radiant and good! yeahz... & i looked forward to the 3 wedding dinners we have in tis yr... heehee...

Home Sweet Home...

I'm BACK!!!! back in the familiar groud...

the feeling is so weird but enjoying... haha... anyway, i juz cut short my msg here ah... cos now using jun's lappy. he got so many restriction for me in using his lappy so i got to chop chop... me now very "low" in communication cos my home internet is down ah.... miserable days without internet... and now additional pain cos my laptop is "hospitalise". now is under servicing... double combo ah... so now anyone wanna look for me, pls sms me ah.... hahah...
