Getaway to Kuala Lumpur

last weekend i went for a 3Ds 2Ns getaway trip to KL with Huiying and Philip. the main purpose of the trip was to visit Tess. abt 3 yrs ago when we 1st met each other in Aussie, we promised that we will visit each other in the home country after we graduate. earlier tis year, Tess came to Spore with her parents during CNY. though it was a busy period for most of us, Huiying, Philip and I met up with her and i really love the feeling of being able to gather with my 2 lovely housemates once again. so to fulfill our promise to visit Tess in KL, i suggested this getaway trip. i wanna have a taste of gathering with my Aussie buddies once again. heehee...

indeed i had a great trip and a good time catching up with them. we had our usual non-stop laughing moments, juicy gossip sessions, 大头贴 photo taking sessions and our all time favourite, FOOD marathon!!! whahahaha... all these reminds me of our days in Aussie. although the environment is diff, the pple i know is still the same. time flies and i actually noe them for 3 yrs already. woohoo~ deeply appreciate the frenship with them and now i wish tat we can try to have such once in a while getaway trip and gathering whenever possible...

Day 1

Upon arrival, Tess came to our hotel and met up with us. she wanna bring us out to try their local food for dinner. however, we were too early and the restaurant was not open for business yet. so while waiting for the restaurant to open, Tess suggested that we go for some coffee at a local cafe called Old Town. Tess told us tat Old Town coffee, the cafe's signature coffee originated from some hometown coffee. an old uncle used to sell coffee at the hometown and after which his son build up a cafe business with the authentic taste of the coffee. now Old Town is a cafe chain with many franchise outlets throughout KL. cool leh...

Huiying & Tess used to have the same Sony Ericsson phone when we were studying in Aussie.. now when both of them changed their handphones, they r still using the same phone! wat a coincidence! whahaha...

High Tea before dinner... we had Old Town coffee, Kaya Toast, Chicken & Ham 菠萝包 & normal 菠萝包... really yummy, esp the Kaya Toast! jus the rite texture and rite amt of kaya...

our dinner for the nite was Steamboat! well, u may ask wat so special abt steamboat tat we have to wait for the restaurant to open. check out the photos up next and u will noe...

tis is the speciality! yes! is congee steamboat! for me, i nv try it before. is an new idea of eating and pretty interesting. jus like normal steamboat, we placed the ingredients in the congee and wait for the ingredients to boil together with the congee. the taste of the ingredients blended very well with the congee, making the congee taste really yummy. and the congee was so well cooked tat it was so smooth. one will not feel too full after eating the congee.

for 4 pple, tat was half of the amt of FOOD... the other half was already in the soup and congee... & in the end, it only cost us abt RM$65 which is abt S$30. is seriously cheap and filling. by the end of dinner, 4 of us felt extremely FULL... stomach almost burst ah! hahaha...

after dinner, Tess brought us to one of her favourite hangout for shopping and chill out. we did some shopping and after some form of walking for digestion, we headed for our desserts! hahaha... seriously non stop eating...

day ended pretty late @ abt 1am with Tess bringing us to the local Mama stall for tea. is something like those roadside stall which sell Teh Terik, coffee, roti canai, mee goreng, fried rice and etc... by the time we got back to hotel, it was abt 2am. wooo... long long day sia... but fun fun day too! heehee...

Day 2

during breakfast @ hotel... variety of food @ the hotel breakfast was still okay.

after breaky, we headed to the shopping malls around the precinct. there were quite a few choices of shopping malls around and we spent almost half a day going to one after another. when we decided to settle for lunch, we headed to the nearby KFC. hahaha... i always tink tat Malaysia KFC taste much nicer than Spore's. :D

Day 2's dinner was Bah Kut Teh! woohoo~!!!! after seeing tis dark soup base Bah Kut Teh, I understood y Tess had such big reaction when we cooked the Spore's style of clear soup base Bah Kut Teh in Aussie... really very different.

after dinner, we headed to Jusco to buy the Old Town 3-in-1 coffee and went on for a movie, Death Race. the movie ended at abt 12am and we decided to go for supper...

we decided to explore tis dessert shop called 甜品哥哥 which Tess has nv been to. well, there is a great variety of dessert to choose from. the menu is full of dessert and the table is full of dessert's pics...

Day 3

before we left KL, we had some last minute shopping at KLCC and Berjaya Time Square. & tat was when we had our lunch at A & W! whahaha... 3 of us really miss it so much...

end of journey and we have to bid Tess Goodbye. had a good time catching up with them and we will await to the next gathering.. be it in Spore or KL once again... :D
