i'm in Brisbane but MIA from blog, NSN, email for next 2 weeks...

HELLO everyone!!! i am back in Brisbane from my 19 days NZ trip liao... heehee... act back last Thursday but I am now "un-contactable" via internet, email or MSN. cos I don't have internet at home now & seriously it is so painful without internet ah!!! I will have to come to uni or go to my fren's house to access the internet. Troublesome sia cos I need to pack my stuff at home to get ready to move out on this Wed. well, my packing is not even half way thru sia. hahahaha...

anyway, I will get very busy this 2 weeks. my family will be here on tis wed morning (fast sia!) and I will be bringing them around and preparing for my graduations in next Wed! woohoo~~!!! finally!!!! whahahaha... currently i am so tied up with tings and so I will not be online for a while. haiz.. so no updates abt my NZ trip on bloggy as yet. Please await patiently till I settle all my stuff and move to my new place with internet access. Then I will "bombared" u guys with photos after photos... heehee...

I just gotten my Honours Unconditional Offer today! woohoo~~!!! finally... something off my mind, no need to keep worrying now.

18th day in New Zealand!!!!

my 18th day in New Zealand... had been a great experience all the way and i really enjoyed myself very much... i hope to have more but i cannot. heehee... got to head back to Brisbane tomolo afternoon. my graduation is in 2 weeks time & my family r coming! gotta go home and pack up all my stuff to move house! ohhhh... results out freshly out from "oven" today! juz checked it. not the perfect results everyone expected me to get (sorry, guys!) but i am satisfied. satisfied in the sense tat i noe how much effort i had put in this sem and so how much i shld expect to get in return. so no complains! heehee... i promise i will add on double "oil" for my honours (tat is if it is still valid! *waiting anxiously for the notification from uni now*).

anyway, now i am at a very beautiful lake, called Lake Tekapo. clear sky, good for viewing sunrise, sunset and star gazing. but one ting is tat is juz too COLD!!!! is freezing cold here & the wind is blowing horribly strong at nite. is so cold tat the toilet have to change to running water function for their flushing system, if not the water in the pipe will FREEZE! hahaha... so the toilet is very noisy...

okiedokie... i got to go for now... proceed on to Christchurch where i started my journey from. a nite in Christchurch and i can go back to Brisbane tomolo! woohoo...!!!! i miss my housemates, Tess and Huiying liao!!!! i miss my darlings who sleeping on the floor now (my mattress was sold! thanks, gals for selling it for me! thanks JEss for buying it from me! hahaha!!!) okok... cya guys with photos when i get back... over 500 plus photos... and more to come along the way today!

10th day in New Zealand with the ultimate challenge...

i did it!!!! i din chicken out... i din run away at the very last min... heehee... so wat am i toking abt here? i am still in New Zealand & YES! YES! is Bungy Jump & Tandem Sky Dive! i have so so much to share abt these 2 experiences but i will leave everything till i get back to Aussie. juz a quick summary abt them will be i really really ENJOYED both of them so so much!!!! seriously had a great time with both... & it definitely add so much memorable moments to my wonderful NZ trip! nv will forget... 9 more days to go and i will head back to Aussie... more fun to come, i reckon. is winter festival in NZ now. is crazy and fun times for all. i can be part of it too! woohoo~~!!!

6th day in New Zealand... is snowing!!! splendid landscape, awesome scenary...

hello guys!!! i am currently in New Zealand. 19 days holidays in New Zealand and now is the 6th day! woohoo!!! more to go... had been very good experience so far and i tink it will only get better. heehee... today i went for snow hiking in the glacier tat was rather heavily snowing. it was very tiring but a very rare experience as we dun have tis back in Spore or neither can i get it in aussie. hehee.. although there was disappointment too as the weather was very bad today so we were only half way thru. din really manage to get to the glacier. it was getting too dangerous to be climbed on so we had to head back. well, kinda disappointed as after walking so long on that slippery path and in tat super heavy boots & tat ever thick clothings. now my legs r numb... seriously cannot feel my legs now. i can see the veins of my feet rather visible now. hahaha... share elaborate more when i get back and upload the photos.

anyway, i really enjoyed myself so far. heehee... however at tis moment, i am stucked at a mountainous area cos the route to my next destination, Queenstown is being blocked due to heavy snowstorm. i cannot leave tis place as yet. need to wait for 1 more day. i hope after tomolo, things will get better and i can proceed to Queenstown for the activities tat i am looking forward... Bungy, Skydive, white water rafting, skiing, jetboating... woohoo~~~

ALL DONE!!! finally!!! not officially graduated as is only end of exam lah. but i juz wanna express my happiness. on my part, i had done wat i can do for ALL assignments and exams had ended as of today for my bachelor studies only (unfortunately!). dun remind me wat i have to go for in the following 1 year. juz let me enjoy tis min of happiness as today is the FINAL exam of my bachelor studies!!! congrats me for tat, k? heehee... date of release results will be 4th July. till then, i shall enjoy my life 1st. worry later cos watever i can, i did liao. rest is up to fate liao. heehee...

gonna be a busy weekend as i am setting off to New Zealand on tis sunday! yeahz!!! for a trip of abt 3 weeks away from Brisbane. i guess shld b very challenging weeks for me cos i am all alone! going thru the super duper cold winter in NZ.... today i went to city to get all the necessary stuff to bring along for the trip and tomolo shall be packing day! after which, i am all set and ready! i will have fun in NZ cos i am going to try alot of different and extreme activities.... will definitely update more when i get back with photos! so stay tune, k? :D

The BIG BBQ!!!

last week was Queensland Week. many places around the State of Queensland had different celebrations for this week. as for Brisbane, there was this Big BBQ held @ Roma Street. hmm... sound as if there r alot of food leh... then u r wrong! is actually a day where kids r the STARS! yes! is family event & most events and games r catered to the kids. they even have HI! 5 performance.

as a grand event, of cos there r alot of help needed. & as a govt event, of cos as many volunteers needed as possible. heehee... since they need pple, of cos i wun give up such opportunity to be part of it ah! even is exam period, i still went ahead to volunteer for it. so on a very cold and freezing morning, i dragged myself out of my comfy bed and get ready to start my shift at 9am.

dreadful to wake up so early lor... but all was good at the event. i was assigned to mend the kid's registration and information booth. my task is to help the kids to stick the free tattoo stick-on and prepare wrist bands with their parents' mobile numbers. seeing all the lovely kids, all the hardwork and dreadful tinking of waking up so early r all gone! from 9am till 12.30pm, i juz worked non-stop. really non-stop & not a drop of water into my mouth cos the crowd juz continuously come and come. i din even noe is end of my shift until my fellow volunteer mate told me to stop work before i realised tat i had been standing up for 3 and half hrs non-stop with a fixed position tat led to my current pain ah. yes! imagine i bent over to help the kids who r abt the height of the table for the full 3 hrs plus. i only managed to straighten my body for a few mins and continue again. until when i really stand straight and walked to toilet to change out my uniform, tat was when i feel tat instant pain and aching ah. gosh... i din noe it was so jia lat. but it only got worse when i went home. now my thighs r aching too. imagine when i climbed up the stairs in my house, i had a weird posture. my backside r sticking out and legs rather wide open. whahaha... and i have a slight problem bending down to take tings. i got to slowly squat down. now only lying straight in bed is the best for me but i cannot ah! cos i need to mug for the friday paper. argh~!!! if tomolo it dun get well, i will need to stick tat smelly medicated plaster on my waist and thighs liao. hahaha...

well, if u ask me will i go for it again, my ans will be YES for sure! even with all these pain, i still tink is worth it. cos when i was doing my task, i juz forget everything on mind. no stress, no burden, no need to tink of the 101 tings tat i need to do. & somemore i am facing such lovely angels... CHILDREN! their smiles r so so innocent and adorable. their voices r so so lovely. each and every one of them r so polite. wait patiently in queue for their turn. i seriously had a great time having so much fun with them. some lovely moments to recall:
- at one go, i have 5 little hands placed in line nicely on the table for me to stick the tattoo on their hands.
- a little girl asked me "y do u have 3 tattoos on ur hands?" i answered "cause i need to show you guys how the tattoos will looked like. now you have 2 and so u can show to other people too!" so there she is running to her Mummy, "mummy, i have 2 tattoos, see!", showing her 2 small smally hands to her mummy. whahahaha...
- the kids' hands r so so small tat the tattoos r too big at times. heehee...
- & i have a sulky boy who was smiling with mouth widely open after i place a tattoo on his arm. hahaha...

too many to name... conclusion is tat kids r simply amazing... they can juz brighten up ur day without u even realising it and their smiles juz defeat every unhappy moments. & one more ting is tat i realise tat Aussie Daddys r so so wonderful. heehee... i wanna an "Ang Moh" Daddy for my kids next time ah! :D

my face look pale here, rite? cos i juz woke up in such a cold and freezing morning... without breaky somemore. hahaha...


hula-hula section. the hula hula r placed on the floor for everyone to play with. i saw many children and their parents playing with them ah. hahaha... i miss playing hula hula ah. i was quite good at it last time lor... i can continuosly play for hours but now ah... cannot lor. rusty liao, waist to stiff to swirl and shake liao...

fly! fly! the kid is flying... oh well, the children r too light for them to be able to fly up and down. so by the side, there is a man attached to the rope. heehee... tis is using the man's weight to pull the kid up ah.

is Magic show moment... kids simply love it ah! he is using some tissue papers to create some magic which i dun understand at all but the kids r juz laughing so loudly tat i tink understanding does not matter after all... is laughter and joy tat matter the most. yeahz!

presenting to u the most popular location of the day! Sound Playground! i had abt 10 enquiries for the morning asking abt where is tis playground. i dunno wat was it all abt until i saw it myself. they r some musical instruments made from recycled materials. there r big barrels, tables and buckets. & the kids juz use the stick to hit and hit to create sound ranging from low to high pitch. very noisy but funny ah! cos is a "rojak" orchestra!

Surf! Surf! the surf rescue team show casing their equipments and having kids taking photos...

Bollywood dance... trying to get the kids to have a bollywood dance... according to me, if u add a tree in front each dancers, it will become their typical move in their movies... "dancing around the coconut tree and play tat "now u see, now u dun" tree hiding game"... heehee...

cool leh... rock climbing lor... is quite tall lor. & there r really kids who managed to climb up and complete the whole course. bravo!!!

such a long time since i last watch a puppet show liao... but i cannot have a close up view cos the kids r all sitted rite in front. no more rooms to squeeze in liao & there r parents who r there enjoying the show with the kids too.

did i mention tis is a Big BBQ? yes! tis is the free give away BBQ (sausages & bread). the queue for it is horrible lor... is very very long and it seems never ending ah... whahaha...

tis is where i worked at. cannot have a closer view cos too many pple to block my way to enter the place again. heehee...

tis is the tattoo... tis is on my rite arm. i tried one on my face but only half the sun came out. hahaha... but it look kinda nice on the kids' chubby face cos i did tat for a few of them. heehee...

upon reaching home, i was dead tired. no mood to study at all & as huiying suggested the previous nite. so we had a pizza dinner together. heehee... save my trouble to cook dinner too! no Domino pizzas tis time round, we decided to try something more expensive from Pizza Capers... heehee...

Seafood Pizza... alot of ingredients ah! in my opinion, tis is ingredients overload! very rich in ingredients ah!!! & the prawns, mussels and sotong r so so big and juicy!

Gulf of Mexico! HOT! HOT! the hidden chilli sauce seems free sia... cos the pizza taste very SPICY! & tis is overloading with sauces...

overall tis 2 pizzas r yummy! ingredients overload but still great! but oso can get quick sick of it so i gave my remaining share to Fiona ah. dun ask me eat them for another meal cos is too rich for me ah. heehee...

okok... so much for now... gota go back to studies...

** 4 days to end of EXAM!

in the midst of examz revision...

haha... i tink tis is the most slacking exam period for me. cos i had not been studying faithfully. watching tv shows downloaded from MOBTV (they extended my free subscription! y? argh~!), went to gym, doing research for my NZ trip, going for a volunteer event tis sun... blah blah... all these shld be out of my agenda or not priority for now cos i have an exam coming up!

although is only 1 paper, is still exam ah! seriously need to get my head back on studies. i had been so slow in my revision. well, i guess i really dun like literature studies! to tink i was in literature class in sec sch, hmm... but i failed my O level literature lor. i got E8! hahaha... anyway, my exam paper is on a module tat is more or less similar to literature studies. how does studying a self-assessment text "7 habits of highly effective pple" & a novel "Alchemist" for ur exam sound to u? how will u feel when ur exam r all abt the journal readings? there r no theoretical fact to rem or refer to. is so so personal opinion studies tat when i look at the past year exam paper, i almost fainted... question such as "which is ur favourite guest speaker of the semester? why? how do u relate ur own career objectives to his or her guest lecture?" & many more on ur career goals, caereer path and so on... how will u ans all these if u were me? how will study for all these if u were me?

hmm.... wat to do leh? tis course is called Professional Development lor so i oso bo bian ah... die die oso muz study something, anything tat i can digged out from tat stack of notes...

anyway, as the most dreadful revision period went... on a super duper COLD evening today, Fiona & I went to Nando's for dinner. it is a newly open restaurant nearby our houses. Nando's... sound Indian to u? well, it sound Indian to me lor & i tot is an Indian restaurant. ended up i was wrong! is Portuguese. whahaha... hmm... guess, i shld stop blabbering & get on with the photos of the dinner... tok while viewing the photos... bring it on now! yeahz~!!!

"po-po... po-po..." okok... i'm trying to sound like a chicken, obviously is a failure... whahaha... see tis chicken number stand here? Nando's is all abt CHICKEN! their grilled chicken is famous! (i din ordered tat tis time. will order the next round... promise!) as the main lead is chicken, so the number tag is of cos buddy buddy lah... Fiona & i tot of smuggling tis tag home cos don't u tink is FUNNY? i mean very creatively designed & is CUTE! hahaha...

tat irritating Fiona lah... ask me open my mouth so BIG! & still wanna specially capture the opened mouth... my mouth so small lor.. yet she force me open so wide... so painful and aching ah! whahaha... (continue to pretend only, Miss Lim... as if ur mouth so small ah! - tons of rebutting comments from general public, i reckon!)

hmm.. here r wat we ate... we wanna different wraps but they dun have that much variety as yet. all they have was tis classic chicken wrap only. haiz... tat's sad. here's my meal, classic wrap with side order of cous-cous (we dun even noe wat it is after finishing it! hahaha...)

i tink their limitation in variety is becos they r short-handed! do they need help? i can work for them! i dun mind having to "ta-bao" leftovers home! hahaha... oh well, but at a 2nd tot... my conclusion is if u like a particular food from a place, dun ever work at the place! dun tink u can ta-bao leftovers & wanna work ah... cos if u work at the place, chances will be tat u will no longer like tat food as u will get SICK of it! sick of smelling and seeing it after facing it for hours at work whole day. so i cannot work in Kadoya (my katsu don), not at Freestyle (my flourless chocolate cake), not at Salt & Battery (my fish & chips), not at Hanachi (my jap curry rice), not KFC in Aussie (i love the chicken here!) hmm... sound as if pple wanna hire me ah! whahaha...

Anyway, i had a crazy tot of taking photos of the following when Fiona draw my attention to the chilli bottles... whahaha... here u go...

Rainy Days...

YES! it had been raining for 3/4 of the day! i reckon it will continue to late at nite. well, i am grateful tat it is raining cos Australia need water, Queensland need water to tide over the dry season earlier tat had caused serious drought where water restriction goes as high as Level 6. however, y muz it be raining now? is examz period ah... rainy days mean sleepy days which means no mood to study, grumpy mood, slacking mode, sian mode & many more... all except study mode! damn it! super inefficient and unproductive in my revision ah!

i need the sun now! can i pls have a cooling weather with not so much of rain? whahaha... if i can manipulate the weather as the way i wanna, i tink i am a very powerful person lor... oh well, i tink the cooling weather is making me having hallucination. whahaha.. not tinking clearly liao...

oh well, is the last week of uni & last weekend before we mug for examz. having our last report due on Mon, Huiying & i had to mug thru the weekend. however, on the dreadful Sat afternoon, Huiying pop a msn msg to me "iris, do u wanna go out & chill at Freestyle at nite? we faster finish our reports & go!" wowow... wat a temptation & is a BIG one.... so there i am hurrying myself and pia all the way to finish tat long winded report (4000words in the end... phew~!)

so off we went to Cybercity for dinner & Freestyle for desserts!

i'm waiting for more photos from Jas. haha... i wanna see wat did they do and wat kind of photos they had taken! haiz... seriously i miss them so so much... i miss Jun's laughter and suan-ning of me non stop for practically ANYTHING and EVERYTHING under the sun... i miss Lin's madness and craziness & willingness to get silly with me... i miss looking @ Jas and irritate her by requesting for someting out of the blue and making her dunno to be angry or be amused by it... i miss Lian's blur-ness & her fav ans "anything lor... shun bian lor..." & her sudden blurting out of comments tat make me dunno how to react... whahaha... we r the Spicy Gang so we have "spices" in our own way to Spice Up Our Life! without all the other "spices", life seems missing something here but i noe in future, i can use these photos to temporary curb all issues till the day i step back on my homeground once again! yeahz!

LAST day for my Job Placement... Thank U to all...

last day of my job placement! how time flies... i still rem tat beginning of the sem, i was still blogging abt my preparation for the various interviews to get the job placement. how i panic, how i worried, how i anxious wait to receive confirmation emails and phone calls... & now, is LAST day of job placement! is really very FAST! & today was a hectic day. cos my colleagues r heading to Sydney for an on-site set up for a conference starting tomolo. 1.30pm flight & they r still not ready at 11am. within tat one hr, we r rushing here and there to get all the stuff ready and at 12pm, they set off for airport, leaving the office in moment of silence suddenly. whahaha... it was a great day cos i had stuff to do all the way from morning till evening! a good way to end my placement...

& another best ting is tat my Boss actually asked me to evaluate my performance with him. cos for watever he comment, my lecturer will review aft tat. for watever marks he is giving, i will be awarded accordingly for my grade for tis placement. when he asked me to rate myself, i always give myself a rating tat is on lower end or average. and most of the ans is always 1 level lower than his opinion abt me. in the end, he gave me a 8.5 out of 10. when he asked me abt my opinion abt my own marks, i told him maybe abt 6 to 7. i am trying to be humble in the geniune way! not trying to act only cos i feel rather weird having to evaluate myself. i wanna voice out how i felt abt the grades i can get but i juz feel weird having to grade on myself cos i tends to always put myself at a lower end of the marks no matter how good i tot i had do.

even they can't hear abt all these, i still wanna say it.... i seriously wanna thank my managers and colleagues for all their hardwork and assistance cos it makes my life much easier and happier thru out tis few mths. & certainly i learnt alot more. gaining valuable hands on experience, bringing me closer to where i wanna head towards and giving me the chance to braoden my exposure & understand the industry better. whether issit here i wanna be, tis job placement definitely open up my mind even further! :D & to my lecturers for all the hardwork in arranging all these wonderful job placements for us, students! is definitely worthwhile and there r certainly heaps of benefits!

tat's it! NO more official lectures and tutorials till further notice!!! haha...

today is the last day of uni for me! well, i would love to say is last day for my studies here but is not yet ah. juz the last day of the sem or the last day of my degree! heehee... no more official lectures or tutorials. i attended the last lecture today with a bag full of examz tips and great laughing session with my course mates. many of them were new frens to me as i only know them tis sem. heehee...

no more lectures, no more tutorials but i still have 1 more report to finish. honestly, tis is the most sickening report i have so far. cos 1stly, i have no idea how to make the whole report link up to provide a good flow and 2ndly, i have difficulty to incorporate my research and the theory. and 3rdly, is worth 50%! gosh... i seriously dun like tis report. is killing me!!! & tat is y i am doing it so slowly tat i can juz murder myself soon. cos is due next mon & i am only like 10% thru it. damn it! y is the last one so torturing? anyway, i shall try to overcome it and juz do watever i can. if i dun score well for tis, i tink i have no issue ah. cos i seriously have no clue on how to make it better. after consulting my lecturer, is still the same. haiz... is easy to understand the theory, is juz how i can incorporate into the report writing? arghhh~~!!!!

well, tats a warning to me too. if i am into the Honours studies, i shall not choose the same nature of modules as my electives ah. cos i reckon tat i will fare very badly in tis area... Tourism Impact and Sustainability is juz not my cup of tea! haha...

my Western style dinner & i was @ Max Brenner Choc Bar in Spore last nite! :D

juz imagine sizzling steak lying beneath tat yummy HOT gravy & the wonderful smell tat can juz fill the entire room. okok... i am exaggarating here! so juz ignore my above mention comments but do look out for the photo up next! here it is...

how does tis dish look? it looks yummy, rite? well, i tink it taste good too ah! heehee... tis is my dinner tonite. as i had dreaming of myself eating steak, hence i decided to buy some steak and cook tonite. but the beef steak r so expensive! so under unforseen circumstances, i decided to use the beef sausages i have to replace the beef and have a Western Style Dinner! yeahz!!! then in additional, here is something else...

ended up there was too much! so after a few mouthful of the spagetti, i decided to pack the remaining for lunch tomolo. hahaha...

alrighty! so much for the updates on my dinner tonite before anyone scream at me again for posting FOOD!

& last nite, my 4 lovely Spice buddies went out. guess wat, i went along too! whahaha... all thanks to their thoughtfulness, i managed to go out with them. sound scary... dun be mistaken. wat i meant was they brought my photo along for tis outing! how great can tat be ah... whahaha... all THANKS to Jun who printed the photo after editing it, THANKS to Jas for providing the photo & THANKS to Lin who was supposed to bring a bear to represent me & forget to bring (tat's good ah!) & THANKS to Lian for not getting crazy with the rest! honestly, i deeply appreciate their kind move and thought. with their thoughfulness, i managed to "go" to Max Brenner Choc Bar @ Esplanade & enjoyed a cup of Iced Water instead of my yummy chocolate drinks! whahaha... they said they r gonna do tis every time they meet until i get back to Spore physically. well, they make sure they mean wat they say lor. & i demand for different photos of me for every outing lor. whahaha... how crazy can we get here sia! but for watever it is, i juz wanna say THANK U to them. seems kinda funny and childish but i love tat thought there. :D

apart from ME, today tis 4 "tingy" r going out for GSS shopping & GOOD food! !@#$%!@#$%!@#$%!!!! how irritating can tat get when they keep telling me abt their meeting up and gathering via MSN! *bish*

act is nutting much abt it too cos is juz a normal gathering! but it is WITHOUT ME! so tat's the BIG deal! well, i tink they will surely say i bu yao lian to tink i am so BIG deal to them lor... *blek* nvm, they shall go and try to yummy food & give me a review aft tat. if is yum yum, they r going to accompany me to go again when i go back at the end of the yr! Spice gang, u guys can't run away during then!

hmm... i had spent almost like 2 yrs here studying, away from HOME, FAMILY and FRIENDS, i shld get used to it. however, there is one ting for sure tat i cannot and will not be able to get used to. tat is when i feel like it, when i am bored, i can juz disturb my FAMILY at home or call up my FRIENDS to go out together. i am not saying there is no one to go out here. is juz tat i certainly miss out alot on gathering with pple back HOME. am i being very baby to say all these leh? dun seems the independent me tat i am suppose to be ah. haha... well, no matter how much i grumble, i am here in Aussie already ah. :D

Homesickness is wat had been killing me all these while. no matter when and where, it had nv leave me. i guess no matter how long it is, i will juz have tis sickness with me to wherever i go. away from HOME and loved ones is nv an easy task, leaving the comfort zone u had been there since young will nv be an easy move. but in reality, when u wanna achieve some dreams and goals, there r scarifices tat u need to do ah. i noe my scarifices r juz starting. i am not going to end here. there r much more tat i noe i wanna do. not to mention tat as yet, when is time, tings will be known.

okok... last few words... no matter where i am, and what i am doing, i will always always miss HOME Singapore, my beloved FAMILY and lovely FRIENDS!!! (mushy mushy ah... hahaha)

wat had been happening to my world of entertainment recently? i am very very well-entertained by MOBTV! cos it brought me back to the familiar sound and image of "mediacorp TV production". how i miss all tat... here is wat i am referring to... MEDIACORP! my LIFE when i was in Spore. the source tat kept me ALIVE and KICKING during my days when i juz slack at home... whahahahaha...

with the MOBTV tat is in my life now, i am back to the ALIVE and KICKING mode. heehee... juz tat all these will be ending soon in abt a week's time. i shall enjoy more while is still valid. & juz as i was enjoying, a tot suddenly strike my mind. esp after watching the following shows... give u a hint. tis tot is linked to all the shows stated below:

did u see tat similarity in all the above mentioned shows? whahahaha... those who had been my regular audience of the blog will notice too. yeahz!!! is FOOD! the main theme of almost all my entries. whahahaha... y did i specially mention FOOD and all these shows? cos as i was watching these shows, i had an evil tot in my mind. i oso wanna be host of FOOD shows! heehee... when i get back to Spore, i am going to do juz as wat the shows r doing. going around Spore and juz eat all the yummy food. not those heavy eating. juz casual eating but i shall film down all the FOOD and then put it into a short video clip & admire it whenever i am FREE. whahaha... am i crazy? of cos not! is kinda interesting leh... JUST DO IT! yeahz! i shall do it when i go back for hols at the end of yr. anyone keen to join my crazy idea? mostly welcome. i can oso have different guests for diff food location. whahahhaa... sound cool, yeahz!!!!

Redcliffe Kite Fest... :D

is a windy day... is a sunny day... is a great day for... KITE FLYING! yes! u heard me rite! is kite flying aka "la-yang" flying tat i am toking abt here. whahaha... a scene tat probably u will get to see at Marina South in Spore. well, is definitely something i din see for a long long time ah.

anyway, i was doing research for my report on Friday nite & i came across an event advertisment on the website of Brisbane happenings and it stated that there will be a Kite Fest held @ my researched destination, Redcliffe. so of cos i cannot miss out such great opportunity to be part of the event and check out the area once again in hoping to gather more information for my 50% report. so off i went to Redcliffe today once again! well, tis time round is alone cos it was last min decision, hard to grab any kind soul to go with me. heehee...

it was a chilly day with cold wind blowing rather strongly in the morning. felt cold the moment i left home but thank goodness tat the sun was shining strong and bright so all was still manageable. on a train and bus ride, abt 1hr plus to Redcliffe. was kinda excited cos tis is 1st time i am going for tis Kite Fest & it seems to be quite a grand event. when i reached, there were many many pple. there r many stalls selling different stuff ranging from various authentic food from many countries to accessories to kites (main theme of the event ah!) to clothes. juz too many to name all. and the varieties of FOOD r simply amazing! French, Hungarian, Mexican, Aussie & many more. how i wish i can turn myself into a COW at tat moment so tat i can have 4 stomaches to contain all the different food! whahaha... well, of cos i have self control. i only tried the French Crepes & bought some lovely cup cakes home. overall, it was a great exposure at the event. seeing so many different types, shapes and sizes of kites & all different kind of authentic food. is definitely a great event for family outing cos the kids r simply in FULL indulgence when kites r flying high up the sky. for me, i was glad tat tis event came in time for my report. for the next 2 weeks, it will be MUGGING time for tis wonderful report. hopefully i can finish it in time ah! hahaha... having said so much, let me share with u guys my fav part of every of my entry... PHOTOS!!!!

the 3 kites in the middle, line up one after another r suppose to a "family" of 3. interesting, rite? heehee...

here r the stalls... all of them line up along the grass field...

since it is a family orientated event, of cos we muz take care of the kids. here r their fav section of the event, the games section! ferries wheel, titanic ship slide and mang more...

there is even a "choo-choo" train going around the whole area... how innovative ah? there is no train track, juz simple travelling on grass fields.

see the little oven with chimney? they r used to make the pizzas! once the customer order, the pple will use the pan and put the pizzas in and heat it up. very interesting and the pizza look yummy lor! but i only have 1 stomach which cannot contain 1 whole pizza ah! arghh~~!!!!

my 1 stomach decide to go for the FRENCH Crepes! heehee... cannot see the fillings ah... check out the next one...

aft a few bites, i decided to share a photo of the fillings so tat u guys can have a "taste" of it too. heehee... in it, there r roasted chicken cubes, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese slices and basil leaves... one word to describe, YUMMILICIOUS! is really yummy! juz tat if u dun eat tomatoes, do ask the person take it out cos i ended up taking out tomatoes in the midst of enjoyiong the crepes ah. cos i dun eat tomatoes ah! whahaha... there r many other varieties such as Aussie style crepes (bacon, egg, cheese) or African style (chocolate syrup and banana). yeahz...

back to the kites... here u r, tis is a KITE! is not a balloon or watever ah. but becos tis is too BIG, it took a long while and still on the ground as it is. hahaha...

here r some of the "balloon-kites" tat r flying high up... tis is a shape of a whale...

a shape of a mermain... i tot was rather weird cos the 2 hands keep swaying left and rite. kinda funny leh...

the 2 gigantic octopus who r trying to fight for flying space... hahaha..

the "poisoned" lobster! whahaha... tis lobster din fly for too long & it juz died down on the ground. i reckon it was being "cooked" by the Sizzler pple (booth situated behind the lobster). hahaha...

then when everyone was enjoying the kite flying session, a plane flew out of nowhere showing all kind of stuns by giving out smoke. it is trying to show us tat it is losing control and going to collide against the ground soon & then fly up high again... cool rite? yeahz... i tot was pretty interesting & it was someting tat i can involve in my report as environmental impact! pollution leh... though juz a short while ah..

before i end the long day @ the Festival, i decided to buy something nice home for myself and my housemates. heehee... i had been aiming at them since i stepped into the event. yeahz... CUPCAKES! whahaha... lying all nicely and lovely at the shelves at the stall. so i bought a box of 5! heehee... & i ate one juz now. i ate the one with a cherry on top. it is the Blackforest Cupcake! last one ohh... nice leh... heehee... is very sugary and sweet cos of the icing on top. :D
